Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on a Contract to permanent basis. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting specialist who enjoys balancing day-to-day transactional work with broader support for month-end activities and audit preparation. The role offers the chance to contribute across core accounting functions while helping maintain accurate financial records and efficient reporting processes.

Responsibilities:

- Process vendor invoices, manage payment activity, and help keep accounts payable records accurate and up to date.

- Monitor incoming payments, prepare customer invoices, and support timely follow-up on outstanding accounts receivable balances.

- Record journal entries and maintain general ledger activity to support accurate monthly financial reporting.

- Complete bank and credit card reconciliations by reviewing transactions, resolving discrepancies, and documenting adjustments.

- Assist with billing operations to ensure charges are entered correctly and customer account details remain current.

- Support audit readiness by organizing financial documentation, responding to information requests, and assisting with account analysis.

- Partner with internal team members to verify accounting data, improve accuracy, and maintain compliance with established procedures. Requirements - Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting position with exposure to day-to-day transactional accounting.

- Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and billing processes.

- Ability to prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger records with a high level of accuracy.

- Experience performing bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations.

- Familiarity with audit support activities, including gathering records and reviewing account details.

- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Proficiency with standard accounting systems and Microsoft Excel for tracking, analysis, and reporting.
