Floor Authority is currently looking for a Purchasing Agent in Myrtle Beach. The ideal candidate is responsible for sourcing, ordering, and managing flooring materials and related supplies to support sales and installation operations. This role ensures products are ordered accurately, delivered on time, and aligned with project schedules while maintaining strong vendor relationships and cost control.

  • Create and manage purchase orders for flooring materials, trims, and accessories
  • Coordinate with sales, operations, and warehouse teams to ensure accurate product ordering
  • Track order statuses, lead times, backorders, and deliveries
  • Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, freight, and order discrepancies
  • Verify order confirmations, invoices, and packing slips for accuracy
  • Resolve purchasing issues such as shortages, damages, or incorrect shipments
  • Maintain organized purchasing records and update inventory systems
  • Assist with forecasting material needs based on sales trends and upcoming projects
  • Support cost control efforts by monitoring pricing and freight charges
  • Ensure materials arrive in alignment with installation schedules
Work Schedule
  • Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm. In-Office Position.
Desired Candidate Qualifications
  • 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience (flooring or construction industry preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple orders simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency with purchasing software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach
