The On-Site Superintendent is a full-time role based on-site in Myrtle Beach, SC, overseeing daily roofing project operations. This position coordinates crews, subcontractors, and material deliveries to ensure work is executed according to plans, safety standards, and schedule. The On-Site Superintendent monitors job progress, conducts site inspections, resolves issues, and communicates with project managers and clients about timelines, milestones, and any changes.
Responsibilities include enforcing safety protocols, documenting jobsite activities, maintaining site cleanliness and organization, and verifying that workmanship meets quality expectations and code requirements. The role also involves reviewing project specifications, assisting with scheduling, and supporting efficient use of labor and materials.
- Experience supervising construction or roofing projects, including coordinating crews and managing day-to-day site activities.
- Strong understanding of construction safety practices, OSHA guidelines, and local building codes related to roofing.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and written scopes of work.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with team members, subcontractors, and clients on-site.
- Proven organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Comfort with basic digital tools (email, project management or scheduling software, photo documentation) for reporting and updates.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between job sites as needed.
- Prior roofing experience or construction trade background strongly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or construction-related certifications are a plus.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform site walks that may involve ladders and roof access, in accordance with safety protocols.
