Job Summary
The Instructor will serve within the Information Systems Technology Department, primarily teaching courses in the Computer Programming Technology (CPT) program and the Network Systems Management (NSM) program and related certificate programs.
Job Responsibilities- Teach courses in CPT and NSM programs across various Midlands Technical College campuses in the School of Business.
- Maintain a productive classroom environment and manage classroom activities.
- Participate productively in college committees.
This position is located on various Midlands Technical College campuses in the School of Business.
Minimum And Additional RequirementsMaster’s degree in a computing related field or a master’s degree in a related discipline with concentration in computing (including a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).
Preferred Qualifications- Knowledge of computing concepts, networking applications, operating systems, network protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet, VoIP), and networking hardware.
- Ability to keep abreast of networking technologies and demonstrate ability to teach these skills.
- CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft certification is preferred.
- For CPT 101 program: teaching knowledge of basic computer history, theory and applications, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and operating systems.
Adjunct faculty are compensated in accordance with Midlands Technical College’s established pay schedule. The standard adjunct pay rate is $2,802 per three-credit-hour course. Final compensation may vary depending on academic credentials and total course credit hours.
Additional CommentsAny variation is determined upon hire and outlined in the faculty employment agreement.
