Assistant Professor of Biology and Environmental Science
University of South Carolina Lancaster (Palmetto College) seeks a tenure‑track faculty member for a 9‑month Assistant Professor appointment beginning August 16, 2027.
Responsibilities- Deliver courses for freshmen and sophomore majors and non‑majors, including BIOL 102/102L and 301/301L, ENVR 101, BIOL 110, BIOL 270/270L.
- Teach courses focused on ecology, environmental science, evolution, organismal diversity, and animal dissection.
- Maintain a normal semester load of twelve contact hours (lectures, labs, evenings, distributed learning) and contribute to the online bachelor’s degree programs.
- Provide dual‑credit instruction for high‑school students at the main campus and potential Indian Land locations.
- Engage in scholarship and university/community service.
Education and Experience
- PhD in biology or an appropriate related discipline.
- Minimum 18 graduate credit hours in biology, including credentials for departmental approval by the start date.
- Academic credentials and ABD status considered.

- Teaching status: 9‑month, 37.5 hours per week, full‑time.

Lancaster, SC. - Salary: USD $50,000 annually.
