Job Description

As an integral part of a collaborative team, you will support students by developing individualized education plans and ensuring they have access to the resources needed for success in their learning environments. This is a 35-hour-per-week itinerant role, providing flexibility and the opportunity to make meaningful connections throughout the district.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:- Must possess a valid South Carolina teaching certificate with a Visual Impairment (VI) endorsement
- Demonstrated expertise teaching visually impaired students in school settings
- Strong communication skills and commitment to advocacy
- Experience supporting IEP development and implementation
- Ability to travel between sites as needed
- Collaborative spirit and adaptability in diverse educational environments
- Deliver direct, specialized instruction to students with visual impairments
- Collaborate with general and special education teams to ensure inclusive educational access
- Adapt materials and instructional strategies to meet individual needs
- Assess student progress and participate in IEP meetings
- Consult with staff and families to promote student independence
- Provide recommendations for assistive technology and classroom modifications
