Chaplain II Evans Correctional Institution, Bennettsville; MARLBORO) Level 2

• Serves as Senior Chaplain in organizing, developing and monitoring a comprehensive institutional multi-faith religious program for the inmates in a level two institution.
• Will be responsible for supervising a Chaplain II.
• The services provided will include weekly worship, sacraments, crisis counseling, individual and group pastoral counseling, visitation, religious education and other related religious activities.
• The position requires the person to work with religious volunteers from various denominational and faith groups.
• Works closely with institutional operations, program and administrative staff.

Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

The equivalent of a master of divinity degree from an accredited theological school, additional clinical pastoral education and/or work experience in a clinical pastoral setting.

• The equivalent of a master of divinity degree from an accredited theological seminary and ordination as a priest, minister or rabbi, with current ecclesiastical endorsement.

• One (1) year of clinical pastoral education approved by the association for clinical pastoral counselors, the American associate of pastoral counselors, the d national association of catholic chaplains, or the national Jewish welfare board, and one (1) year of pastoral experience.
