We are seeking a full‑time Product Engineer who appreciates attention to detail, a versatile environment, and a broad list of product design projects. Gaining an exciting experience is something we can guarantee here. Your typical week includes product design, fabrication, dyno testing, Solid Works 3D modeling, and 2D drafting. If modeling blown turbochargers on Solid Works excites you, this may be your new home.
Coming into the shop, you may be challenged with designing an air intake system, developing an oil cooler kit, dyno testing an intercooler, or fabricating an oil catch can bracket. Each of these projects is likely to be on different vehicles – a BMW one week, perhaps a Miata the next. You'll work on a variety of vehicles and create ideal solutions for customers seeking upgraded components.
You’ll report to the Product Engineering Manager.
- Design and prototype new aftermarket automotive parts using CAD software (e.g., Solid Works).
- Perform product testing and validation activities (performance, durability, and fitment).
- Participate in design review and the engineering change process.
- Create detailed Engineering Reports to describe test procedures and results both within the company and externally to customers.
- Perform, document, and participate in consumer marketing content creation for the removal and installation of automotive components and systems.
- Participate in supplier evaluations, quality inspection, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to support continuous improvement of our engineering and design processes. Better‑designed products are a result of you and the team brainstorming ideas and then implementing the changes.
- Other duties as assigned.
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university, or related degree.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in Original Equipment Manufacturing, auto manufacturing, heat exchange, engine cooling, or air intake development.
- Basic knowledge of 3D‑modeling software, 3D scanning, 3D printing, and their application to the design process.
- Basic knowledge in GD&T and 2D drawing creation.
- Basic knowledge of automotive components and systems.
- Understanding of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics.
- Understanding of manufacturing and quality control processes, material selection, and assembly methods.
- Hands‑on experience working on…
