About the Role

Our client is looking for a proficient Mechanical Design Engineer to join their automotive components division in East London . This position involves the design, development, and optimization of critical automotive parts, ensuring they meet stringent performance, safety, and durability requirements. You will collaborate with a dedicated team to innovate and refine designs for next-generation vehicles. The ideal candidate has a strong background in automotive engineering and a passion for creating high-quality, reliable components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical components for automotive applications, such as engine parts, chassis elements, or interior systems, using 3D CAD software.
  • Perform stress analysis , thermal analysis, and vibration simulations using FEA tools to ensure component integrity and performance.
  • Create detailed manufacturing drawings, specifications, and tolerance stacks for production.
  • Work closely with manufacturing engineers to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • Support testing and validation activities, analyzing results and implementing design improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance and program management, to meet project objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, with a significant focus on automotive components.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Solid Works) and FEA analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of automotive materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards (e.g., ISO/TS 16949).
  • Knowledge of vehicle systems and component integration.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
