The Impact You'll Make in this Role- Actively supporting EHS Cultural Excellence through personal responsibility for safety, health, and environment, promoting a culture to address incidents, near-misses and potential hazards
- Owning plant EHS programs & training including but not limited to:
Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Machine Guarding, Site Emergency Coordination - Interpreting, implementing, coordinating, and maintaining the regulatory compliancy rhythm to assure completion of reporting and recording for applicable Federal, State, and Local Environmental Permits, regulations, and programs
- Investigating workplace incidents and completing root cause analyses to determine appropriate corrective actions and conduct assessments of high hazard processes to reduce risk
- Providing technical assistance and guidance to plant by leading or assisting in safety committee teams and meetings, including EHS regulatory interpretations
- Providing EHS support in the design and installation of new or modified equipment, industrial automation, and management of change processes.
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- Five (5) years of experience with local, state and federal regulations including (Fire, OSHA, EPA, etc.)
- Five (5) years of experience with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs and procedures within a private, public, government or military environment
- Master's degree or higher in science, engineering, or Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) discipline from an accredited institution
- Ten (10) or more years of experience working in an EHS role in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with hazard and risk assessments, implementation of EHS management systems and experience in a manufacturing environment
- Professional Certification(s) such as:
Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP), Certified Safety Professional CSP®, or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
