The OpportunityIn this full‑time, on‑site role, the Physician Assistant serves as a core member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. This position provides psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and ongoing medical oversight within a structured PHP/IOP setting. The Physician Assistant plays a critical role in clinical assessment, treatment planning, regulatory compliance, and ongoing coordination of care to support safe and effective recovery outcomes.
What You Will Do at Coastal Recovery- Conduct psychiatric and medical assessments for PHP and IOP patients upon admission and throughout treatment.
- Provide medication management in accordance with scope of practice, supervisory agreements, and program protocols.
- Monitor patient response to psychotropic and Medication‑Assisted Treatment (MAT) related medications.
- Collaborate closely with therapists, nurses, and case management staff to ensure integrated, coordinated care.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and clinical reviews.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Support continuity of care, including coordination with external providers and referral sources when needed.
- Adhere to all applicable South Carolina licensing, supervision, and program requirements.
- Licensed Physician Assistant (PA) credential in the State of South Carolina
, active and in good standing. - Active DEA registration (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Demonstrated experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, or substance use disorder treatment is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of psychotropic medications, MAT protocols, and monitoring requirements.
- Strong clinical judgment, assessment skills, and ability to manage complex client presentations.
- Commitment to trauma‑informed, culturally responsive, and person‑centered care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary behavioral health environment.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and clinical documentation.
