The Opportunity

In this full‑time, on‑site role, the Physician Assistant serves as a core member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. This position provides psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and ongoing medical oversight within a structured PHP/IOP setting. The Physician Assistant plays a critical role in clinical assessment, treatment planning, regulatory compliance, and ongoing coordination of care to support safe and effective recovery outcomes.

What You Will Do at Coastal Recovery
  • Conduct psychiatric and medical assessments for PHP and IOP patients upon admission and throughout treatment.
  • Provide medication management in accordance with scope of practice, supervisory agreements, and program protocols.
  • Monitor patient response to psychotropic and Medication‑Assisted Treatment (MAT) related medications.
  • Collaborate closely with therapists, nurses, and case management staff to ensure integrated, coordinated care.
  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and clinical reviews.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Support continuity of care, including coordination with external providers and referral sources when needed.
  • Adhere to all applicable South Carolina licensing, supervision, and program requirements.
What You Bring to Coastal Recovery
  • Licensed Physician Assistant (PA) credential in the State of South Carolina
    , active and in good standing.
  • Active DEA registration (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Demonstrated experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, or substance use disorder treatment is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of psychotropic medications, MAT protocols, and monitoring requirements.
  • Strong clinical judgment, assessment skills, and ability to manage complex client presentations.
  • Commitment to trauma‑informed, culturally responsive, and person‑centered care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary behavioral health environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and clinical documentation.
