Overview
As the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, you will support the overall operation and success of the food and beverage department. You will be actively involved in daily service periods, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while overseeing staffing, associate development, and service standards. This role requires a strong focus on leadership, operational efficiency, and maintaining a high‑performing team environment.
Responsibilities- Support daily restaurant operations, banquets, and special events to ensure efficiency and exceptional guest service
- Maintain floor presence during meal periods to lead service and ensure adequate coverage
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, and counseling food & beverage team members in accordance with company policies and relevant regulations
- Promote a culture of empowerment and service excellence through consistent training and development
- Uphold service standards through regular performance feedback and recognition
- Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards exceeding local inspection requirements
- Conduct team meetings and training sessions to enhance communication and consistency
- Oversee accurate and consistent cash handling and POS procedures
- Collaborate with the Director and other departments to support smooth operations and guest satisfaction
- Other duties as assigned
- Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality business, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the resort, including weekends and holidays
- 3+ years of management experience required
- Must be comfortable with prolonged standing and walking, and capable of frequent pushing, pulling, and lifting throughout the shift
- Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with guests, coworkers and supervisors
- Proven experience leading food & beverage teams with a focus on guest satisfaction
- Passion for providing exceptional service to guests and team members
- Strong interpersonal and coaching skills to uphold service standards
- Creative approach to staff development and operational improvement
- Detail‑oriented with the flexibility to adapt in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrated ability to drive sales and enhance service interactions
- Proven comfort and experience to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of management, guests, associates, and homeowners, both inside and outside the organization
- Activator/self‑motivated to accomplish goals, with a strong sense of responsibility
- Proficiency with general office PC applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, databases)
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication and attention to detail
