Position: Senior Desktop Support Engineer / Senior End User Support Engineer

Pay Range: $35.00 – $45.00 per hour (based on experience and internal equity)

Schedule: Full-time, contract-to-hire

Work Type: 100% Onsite

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Desktop Support Specialist to provide advanced, hands-on technical support across enterprise desktop, mobile, and end-user computing environments. This position is a key escalation point within the IT support team and will provide direct, onsite support to users across office, manufacturing, production, and distribution environments.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience supporting Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, endpoint management tools, enterprise networking, RF devices, and workstation deployment, along with excellent communication and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

End User Technical Support

  • Troubleshoot Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, One Drive, and Share Point
  • Support desktops, laptops, monitors, docking stations, mobile devices, RF scanners, and other peripherals
  • Troubleshoot network and local printers, wireless connectivity, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory authentication
  • Support Avaya VoIP phones, including hardware, connectivity, and softphone integrations
  • Provide face-to-face technical support and guidance to onsite users
  • Maintain and resolve IT support tickets within established SLAs
  • Image, configure, deploy, and maintain Windows workstations
  • Support endpoint and device management using tools such as Intune, Soti Mobi Control, Lansweeper, and Automox
  • Install, configure, patch, and maintain enterprise software
  • Support workstation refreshes, asset inventory, and device lifecycle initiatives
  • Assist with basic user account management, password resets, and account unlocks

Manufacturing & Distribution Support

  • Provide hands-on IT support across office, warehouse, production floor, and distribution center environments
  • Support RF devices, handheld scanners, and production-critical systems
  • Support shift-based operations and critical after-hours issues as needed

Documentation & Project Support

  • Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles
  • Support IT asset management and inventory processes
  • Participate in office expansions, infrastructure upgrades, technology deployments, and system rollouts
  • Collaborate with network, systems, security, and other IT teams to resolve complex technical issues
  • Serve as an escalation point for junior Desktop Support technicians
  • Mentor, train, and provide technical guidance to support staff
  • Train end users on new hardware, systems, and software applications

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of hands-on desktop / end-user support experience in enterprise environments
  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory
  • Experience troubleshooting desktop applications, printing systems, wireless connectivity, and enterprise network access
  • Experience with workstation imaging, deployment, and endpoint management tools
  • Experience supporting RF devices, handheld scanners, and production-critical systems
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • Ability to lift and transport IT equipment up to 30 lbs and move throughout office, warehouse, and production environments

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft MD-102, or ITIL Foundation certification
  • Avaya VoIP phone and softphone support experience
  • Power Shell or other automation scripting experience
  • Experience with Intune, Soti Mobi Control, Lansweeper, and/or Automox
  • Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven enterprise environments
  • Prior manufacturing, plant, warehouse, automotive, or distribution center IT support experience
