Job Summary:The Assistant Gym Director plays a critical leadership role in supporting overall gym performance. This individual partners closely with the Gym Director to drive membership growth, lead team development, and ensure exceptional customer experiences.
This is not a desk job. You will be on the floor teaching classes, coaching staff, building relationships with families, and helping manage day-to-day operations.
Weekend availability is non‑negotiable for this role.
Responsibilities:- Leadership & Team Development
- Coach, motivate, and support team members
- Assist with hiring, training, and performance management
- Serve as Manager‑on‑Duty as needed
- Operations
- Support daily gym operations and scheduling
- Maintain facility cleanliness and equipment standards
- Ensure safety protocols are followed
- Sales & Growth
- Drive membership sales and retention
- Conduct tours and convert trial classes into memberships
- Support marketing initiatives and community outreach efforts
- Instruction
- Teach high-quality classes using our proven curriculum
- Deliver an outstanding member experience every shift
- Weekend availability (required)
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Sales or membership-based business experience a plus
- Strong customer service background
- High energy, positive attitude, and strong communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Background in child development, gymnastics, physical education, or related field is a plus
- Natural leaders who take initiative
