Job Description Summary
The Second Shift Operations Leader is responsible for the daily execution of manufacturing operations within Combustion and 3DP departments. This role ensures the reliability, consistency, and efficiency of production lines by leveraging lean manufacturing processes to drive continuous improvement. The successful candidate will lead the hourly workforce during second shift, ensuring that all departmental KPIs are met through proactive manpower planning, production gap management, and disciplined execution of standard operating procedures.
Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
- Manage an operation, business, unit, or part of a production facility in order to reach defined targets in quality, cost, delivery and safety. Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards. Team management of salaried employees. This does not include production supervisors who oversee hourly employees.
- Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
- In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
- A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members
- Ability to work 2nd Shift (215pm-1045pm) with some flexibility
- Experience in manufacturing operations management
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college;
OR high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of relevant experience
- Lean Manufacturing experience.
- SAP knowledge.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with machining manufacturing processes.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
