Position: Physician Office Nursing Supervisor - McLeod Pulmonology & Critical Care Associates Florence PB[...]

Responsibilities

  • Assist the physician in assessing the needs of patients based on history, observation, physical exam, telephone triage, and diagnostic data.
  • Perform direct patient care: triage, assessment, procedures, treatments, patient education, discharge instructions, and follow-up.
  • Collect and document vital signs, history, chief complaint, and other pertinent information in the patient chart.
  • Record data in the medical record as appropriate.
  • Perform specialized tests and selected procedures as needed.
  • Prepare medications and administer injections as ordered by the physician.
  • Provide patient education tailored to the situation.
  • Schedule testing and referral appointments per physician instructions.
  • Consult with patients on telephone calls and manage referrals to the physician.
  • Conduct follow‑up calls to patients as required.
  • Perform supervisory tasks as directed by the administrator.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of examination rooms in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Set up and maintain medical equipment, notifying the office manager or appropriate personnel of any malfunction.
  • Manage medical supply inventory, check expiration dates on drugs and vaccines, and dispose of outdated medications; order supplies and assist drug representatives as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all equipment required to perform duties.
  • Promote a learning climate by encouraging coworkers’ continuing education.
  • Assist with overall quality review of patient care through chart audits and data collection.
  • Participate in departmental QA projects and promote the practice’s mission and philosophy.
  • Present the practice positively and assist with supervision of clinical staff, training, staffing schedules, and leadership of clinical projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical office setting.
  • Proficient computer skills.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse license.
