Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Nursing Director or Supervisor, the Mother Baby Lactation Consultant Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for postpartum mother/baby cases or other clinical duties as assigned. The RN directs all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice and federal, state, and local regulations, incorporating age‑specific developmental and cultural considerations into the plan of care.
The RN contributes to quality nursing care through process‑improvement techniques and multidisciplinary collaboration, demonstrating positive outcomes in patient care. The position may include direct supervision of students, requiring the primary caregiver to be readily available throughout the shift.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Neonate Resuscitation (N ) obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- International Board‑Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification obtained within 1 year of employment start date
No travel required.
