Nurse Educator, Clinical Nurse Specialist
Job Description

Shall demonstrate leadership and commitment with respect to the quality management system by:
- promoting the use of the process approach and risk‑based thinking

Utilizes nursing knowledge to collect and organize data through various methods to support clinical and process improvement initiatives, such as complications, readmissions, and/or specific program metrics.
Analyzes data and reports, both retrospective and concurrent, on the specified patient population to identify trends and performance improvement opportunities and prioritizes opportunities for improvement based on the results of the reviewed information and data.
Works with key stakeholders/team to develop action plans to improve performance and loop closure.
Collaborates with members of health care team to ensure that care is provided in accordance with clinical guidelines, regulatory/certifying agencies, and organizational standards.
Assists with implementation and education plans of improvement initiatives to include education of nurses, staff and physicians, policy changes and equipment needs.
Leads and participates in data sharing, planning and implementation with multidisciplinary committees.
Leads the accreditation process and program for Chest Pain and TVT.
Implements and maintains MRMC as a STEMI Receiving Hospital and works with area STEMI referral hospitals and EMS agencies.
Develops, implements, and educates the overall clinical flow of the STEMI Program congruent with the philosophy, goals, objectives, and mission of MRMC in collaboration with administrative leadership.
Develops a communication network with the Cath Lab, ED, appropriate nursing units, referring hospitals, EMS services, and physicians.
Collaborates outreach efforts with Emergency Departments and EMS services in the communities served by McLeod Health.
Develops a Chest pain and TAVR quality assurance and improvement program plan in conjunction with the service line, focusing on quality of care, patient outcomes, and ensuring patient follow‑up.
Responsible for leading and implementing community and patient educational events and represents McLeod Health in educational seminars at local, regional, and national conferences, as applicable.
Attends and prepares information for the monthly and quarterly multidisciplinary team meetings, such as Cardiovascular M&M, Registry meetings, STEMI, TVT and HVI steering meetings.
Work Schedule: 80 hours bi‑weekly
Qualifications / TrainingMinimum of 3‑5 years involved in the direct care of the ACS patient.
Licenses / Certifications / Registrations / EducationMust possess a valid SC license – RN, BLS.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
