Registered Nurse Operating Room

Grand Strand Medical Center, part of Grand Strand Health, is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team. As a key member of our perioperative services in the Healthcare & Medical Services department, you will provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and after procedures. Working alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other clinical professionals, you will circulate and, when appropriate, scrub for a variety of surgical specialties, ensuring accurate patient assessment, sterile technique, and adherence to all safety and quality standards.

In this role, you will be responsible for patient preparation, including verification of consents, completion of preoperative checklists, and coordination of necessary equipment, implants, and supplies. You will advocate for your patients throughout the surgical experience by monitoring their condition, responding promptly to changes, and maintaining precise documentation in the electronic medical record. You will participate in time-outs, counts, and other safety protocols, manage medications and fluids per provider orders, and support post-anesthesia care transitions to promote optimal recovery.
