A leading ambulatory surgery center in coastal South Carolina is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to provide strategic and operational leadership across perioperative services.
This physician-partnered outpatient surgical facility specializes in orthopedic and musculoskeletal procedures, including joint replacement, spine, hand, foot and ankle, shoulder, elbow, wrist, and general surgery services.

Position SummaryThe Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and performance of clinical services throughout the surgery center.
This role oversees the Operating Room, Pre-Operative, and PACU departments while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and evidence-based clinical practices.
The DON serves as a key member of the leadership team and is responsible for driving quality improvement initiatives, infection prevention programs, risk management activities, and staff education efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and oversight for all nursing operations and clinical services.
- Ensure safe, high-quality patient care across all perioperative departments.
- Lead and mentor nursing teams within the OR, Pre-Op, and PACU.
- Foster a collaborative, patient-centered culture focused on clinical excellence.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
- Oversee quality improvement, infection prevention, and risk management programs.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor clinical outcomes and implement process improvements to enhance patient safety and operational efficiency.
- Support physician and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
- Coordinate orientation, training, competency validation, and ongoing staff education.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and departmental performance metrics.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and professional development among clinical staff.
