Responsibilities
Summary:
The nurse serves as a team member of the critical care transport team by utilizing their knowledge and skills to stabilize and move patients from one location to another.
- Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
- Provide comprehensive, effective, care to any patient transported by McLeod Heart Reach Critical Care Ambulance
- Maintains positive communication (written and spoken) when collaborating with healthcare facilities.
- Adheres to all McLeod Health and SC DPH policies as outlined in 60-7.
- Completes accurate and timely documentation (written and electronic) per policy.
- Demonstrates competency and knowledge in critical care ground transport, including understanding of flight physiology, Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Just Culture.
- Demonstrates general knowledge of Incident Command Systems (ICS) and role in disaster responses.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A minimum of (3) years’ experience working in critical care or emergency / critical care environment.
- Knowledge in hemodynamics and ventilator management required.
- Critical Care certification required within 6 months of hire (CEN, CCRN, CFRN, CTRN)
- NIMS 100 required within 6 months of hire
- South Carolina Nursing License
- South Carolina Driver’s license
- ACLS, PALS, BLS certifications are required.
