Center for Healthcare Quality Statistical/Research Analyst
We are inviting applications for two Statistical/Research Analyst positions to participate in funded HIV and relevant research. These projects involve the utilization of multiple types of Big Data and advanced statistical methods to study a variety of issues related to HIV and other health conditions, including community resilience, racial/ethnic disparities of HIV care continuum outcomes, transition of pediatric-to-adult HIV care, HIV associated comorbidities, aging, synthetic data generation, and machine learning analytics.
Responsibilities- Conduct data curation, integration, cleaning, and management of a variety of datasets, including electronic health records, geospatial data, and publicly available data.
- Design, analyze, and interpret data for scientific research and generate reports and results for peer‑reviewed publications and grant applications.
- Apply rigorous analytic methods to monitor and evaluate scientific efforts, progress, and outcomes across multiple research projects.
- Develop new analytic strategies to accelerate the time from data generation to research findings.
- Assist PIs and team members with manuscript and proposal preparation and interpretation of results.
Minimum education and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2 or more years of related experience
. This may be substituted with an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
- Experience analyzing various data sets including electronic health records, public health surveillance data, program implementation data, and behavioral intervention data.
- Proficiency in statistical and computational languages such as SQL, SAS, R, Python, and familiar with machine learning and AI techniques.
- Knowledge of traditional statistical analysis (e.g., logistic regression, Cox proportional hazards, Poisson regression) and Big Data analytics (e.g., machine learning, AI, text mining, generative AI).
- Strong initiative, independent work ethic, effective oral and written communication skills.

Part/Full Time, 37.5 hrs per week, Standard schedule 8:30‑5:00 pm with flexibility. - Pay:
Salary commensurate with qualifications. - Location:
College of Public Health, Arnold School of Public Health, University of South Carolina, Columbia. - Vacancies: 2 positions.
