Overview
Part-time Retail Sales Associate position at CHEF’S STORE within US Foods.
Schedule:
part-time with open availability and weekends (3 to 4 days per week).
- Front End:
Ensure an impeccable CHEF’S STORE experience by developing relationships with customers; perform sales and cash functions accurately at the POS; ensure item barcodes are reflected correctly in the system; conduct cart-to-cart transfer at checkout with visual inspection for tampering; perform receipt checking and complete opening/closing duties as assigned. - Sales Floor and Stocking:
Focus on increasing sales and reducing shrinkage; assist in receiving inventory and stocking shelves; ensure proper labeling, including blaster tagging and catch weight labeling where applicable; replenish the sales floor daily following FIFO; operate reach trucks and pallet jacks as needed; assist with price changes and participate in inventory/cycle counts. - Customer Courtesy:
Maintain a safe, clean environment; communicate safety issues to management; ensure cleanliness of the sales floor, front end, restrooms, and parking area; gather and return carts; may be assigned other duties by Store Management.

- Retail store setting open to the public; exposure to various weather conditions; moderate noise level; may require use of ladders or elevated surfaces; store temperatures range from
-10 to 85 degrees.
- 6-12 months of retail cashier and/or stocking experience required.
- 1 year of retail selling and/or customer service experience preferred.

- Desire and ability to deliver exceptional customer service; ability to assist other employees to get the job done.
- Provide fast, easy, efficient, and professional service.
- Good common sense, basic mathematical aptitude; ability to multi-task and work independently or in a team.
- Flexible hourly schedule, including holidays and weekends; basic computer skills and cash handling experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required.
- Typical physical activities include standing, walking, lifting up to various weights, pushing/pulling, climbing/balancing, stooping/squatting, reaching above shoulder, twisting, grasping and manipulating objects; manual dexterity for typing and operating office equipment.
- Frequency: as described in the original job posting (continual standing/walking; lifting 1-100+ lbs as required; frequent pushing/pulling and climbing).
The expected base rate for this role is between $13 - $21 per hour. This role may include overtime compensation. Compensation depends on experience and geography.
