Retail Sales & Embroidery Machine Associate

Part-Time | Five Eighth Seams | Charleston, SC

Five Eighth Seams is looking for a friendly, motivated Retail Sales & Embroidery Machine Associate to join our team! This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with people, has an interest in sewing and embroidery, and is excited to learn more about today's sewing and embroidery machines.

Schedule

This is a part-time position, approximately 3 days per week
, with shifts generally in the afternoon/evening
, such as 1:00-7:00 PM or 2:00-8:00 PM
.

Availability for some Fridays and Saturdays is required. Exact days may vary based on the store schedule.

What You'll Do

• Help customers select sewing and embroidery machines based on their needs and budget
• Demonstrate embroidery and sewing machine features
• Learn the features and differences between the machine models we carry
• Help customers with basic embroidery questions, accessories, stabilizers, thread, hoops, and supplies
• Assist customers throughout the store with fabric, notions, and other products
• Process sales and provide excellent customer service
• Help keep machines, displays, fabric, and the sales floor organized and inviting
• Continue learning through hands-on training and product education

What We're Looking For

You do not need to be an embroidery machine expert when you start we can teach you! However, applicants should have basic sewing knowledge and some familiarity with sewing or embroidery machines
.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is comfortable talking with customers and helping make sales
• Is genuinely interested in sewing and embroidery
• Is willing and excited to learn embroidery machines in depth
• Is comfortable with technology and learning computerized equipment
• Is dependable, friendly, and self-motivated
• Can work independently but also enjoys being part of a team
• Is comfortable being on their feet and working in an active retail environment
• Is available approximately 3 days per week, including some Fridays and Saturdays
