Mall Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of the mall’s facilities and equipment. This role ensures a safe, clean, and fully functional environment for tenants, customers, and staff. The technician performs preventative maintenance, responds to repair requests, and supports daily facility operations.

• Perform routine inspections of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical systems.
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks according to schedule.
• Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment and building components.
• Replace lighting, ceiling tiles, flooring, fixtures, and hardware as needed.
• Maintain common areas, restrooms, food court areas, and exterior grounds.

• Diagnose and repair minor electrical issues (outlets, breakers, lighting systems).
• Assist with HVAC system monitoring and minor repairs.
• Maintain (in coordination with contracted vendors) automatic doors.
• Monitor fire alarm and sprinkler systems.

• Ensure compliance with local safety codes and regulations.
• Conduct safety inspections and report hazards.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations.
• Maintain proper documentation of repairs and inspections. Tenant & Customer Support
  • Respond to tenant service requests in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers when necessary.
  • Maintain professional communication with tenants and mall management.
  Grounds & Exterior Maintenance
  • Assist with parking lot upkeep and exterior lighting.
  • Support seasonal tasks (e.g., snow removal, storm preparation).
  • Ensure waste disposal areas are clean and properly maintained.
  Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
  • Technical certification in electrical, HVAC, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of maintenance experience in commercial or retail facilities preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • On-call availability may be required for emergencies.
  Travel Requirements

  Travel within Myrtle Beach Market as needed and regularly.
