Job Description

We are hiring a Warehouse & Facilities & Maintenance Startup Implementation Specialist to support Ryder's Startup Operations in our Supply Chain Solutions division.

• Pay Type:
  Exempt / Salary paid Twice Per Month
• Annual Salary Pay: $85,000-$95,000 per year
• Annual Bonus Potential:
  Up to 10% of base salary
• Up to 90% travel

• Oversee facility startups
• Manage vendor partnerships
• Coordinate automation installations
• Train maintenance leadership
• Drive cost savings initiatives

• Hands-on experience supporting the startup, commissioning, and optimization of automated systems, including conveyors, sortation, robotics, ASRS, PLC controls, and warehouse automation technologies.
• Experience troubleshooting automation, controls, and system integration issues in high-volume distribution, fulfillment, or manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with WCS/WES/WMS platforms, operational readiness testing, and automation performance improvement initiatives.

Coordinates facility readiness and vendor activities during warehouse startups.

• Coordinate vendor execution ensuring installation aligns with design and timelines.
• Validate MHE and automation systems for proper functionality before go-live.
• Lead facility readiness walkthroughs ensuring operational readiness.
• Support implementation of preventive maintenance programs.
• Train Maintenance Managers on systems and expectations.
• Resolve startup issues related to infrastructure and equipment.
• Analyze performance data to identify cost and efficiency improvements.
• Provide support to active sites as needed.

• 75-80% travel required as a baseline expectation. Must maintain flexibility for responsive and short-notice travel based on startup and operational needs. Annual inspections during non-startup periods. Expected early Monday travel for site arrival and support, with Friday afternoon or evening departure to return home. Must be available for two-week consecutive on-site assignments when business or startup needs require. Must be able to travel throughout North America (US, Canada and Mexico).
  
  Timely documentation, expense reporting, and data submission are mandatory to support financial accuracy and overall project success.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or Industrial Engineering, Preferred
• H.S. Diploma/GED, Required
• 5 years or more in experience in facilities, maintenance, or warehouse startup environments, Required
• 1 year or more in experience with Ryder in warehouse operations or logistics role, Preferred,
