SUMMARY:
The Pipefitter l ayouts, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating and industrial production and processing systems, applying knowledge of system operation, and following blueprints.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assemble and install variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic
Cut pipe to length, using saws, pipe cutter, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine
Able to accurately and assemble piping offsets and joints
Assisting in the training of less experienced pipe fitters and providing guidance on best practices.
Install pipe, and related materials and equipment, such as supports, and hangers, according to specifications
Clean and prepare piping surface for welding, gluing, soldering, gaskets, or other forms of sealing
Must be able to understand technical drawings to determine the layout and sequence of pipe installations.
Inspect the work site, clear obstructions, and prepare materials and equipment.
Determine the necessary materials for a job, such as pipes, fittings, and supports.
Assemble pipe sections using welding techniques and other methods like brazing or mechanical fittings.
Basic competence in safe and effective rigging practices
Proficient with various system components and ability to assemble them with minimal oversite - i.e. pumps, valves, connectors, and tanks
Follow all safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Assists other team members with job duties as necessary
Ability to travel to the customer’s locations
Ability to work weekends and/or evenings as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Three to five years related experience and/or training
Two years of related trade school, preferred
Proficiency with computer devices (including tablets and smart phones)
Ability to pass drug screening.
Ability to prove US employment eligibility.
Must possess a valid driver’s license

Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, squat, balance, and climb, with occasional sitting and lying.
- Requires working in confined/constricted spaces and at elevated heights (e.g., ladders, scaffolding, rooftops).
- Material handling demands include lifting from floor level to overhead and maneuvering in tight or awkward spaces.
- Ability to lift and carry or otherwise move:
o Up to 25 pounds constantly
o Up to 50 pounds occasionally
o Over 50 pounds only with mechanical assistance or team lift, following safety protocols
- Associates are expected to lift no more than 50 pounds independently, unless assisted by appropriate equipment or a team lift.
- Team lifts are required for any load exceeding 50 pounds per individual, with clear communication protocols, including verbal confirmation and coordinated movements, to ensure safety.
- Must always follow proper lifting techniques and safety protocols.
- Frequent use of hands and wrists for repetitive tasks such as tool use, wiring, or securing fasteners.
- Must have sufficient hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to use hand tools, power tools, and electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Must be able to work at heights.
- Must be able to climb and perform tasks while positioned on ladders.
