Position
Purpose:
The CDL Driver & Crane Operator at SRS Building Products ensures safe, efficient transport and delivery of building materials to job sites.
- Deliver building materials within a 200-mile radius, following DOT regulations and company policies.
- Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections.
- Operate trucks, cranes, forklifts, and conveyor belts.
- Coordinate with rooftop loaders to ensure accurate, damage‑free deliveries.
- Verify inventory, document deliveries with photos, and assess site safety risks.
- Provide on‑site customer service and support warehouse and yard maintenance.
This role requires frequent travel within a 200-mile radius for material deliveries, with all trips starting and ending at the home branch—drivers return home daily with no overnight stays.
Physical Requirements- Lifting up to 100 pounds and working outdoors in varying weather.
- Operating commercial vehicles and cranes, navigating ladders and confined spaces, and tolerating high noise levels.
- Driving, material handling, and adherence to all safety regulations.
A fast‑paced, field‑based role focused on safe, precise, and on‑time delivery within a 200-mile radius. Success requires strong organization, communication, and customer interaction to meet delivery deadlines and ensure satisfaction at varied job sites.
Minimum Qualifications- Valid CDL driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.
- Proficiency in routine maintenance and safety checks.
- Knowledge of basic mechanical systems and DOT regulations.
- Experience operating conveyor belts, knuckle booms, crane‑equipped trucks, and forklifts (certification preferred).
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, verbal).
- Strong adherence to safety protocols and a clean driving record.
- Background check and drug screening clearance.
- Professional crane operation experience.
- Time and route management skills.
- Experience with boom cranes, piggyback forklifts, and conveyor systems.
- Deep knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations.
- Effective on‑site communication and collaboration.
- Digital inventory management and order verification skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and skill enhancement.
- Minimum:
High school diploma or equivalent. - Preferred:
Vocational or technical training in heavy machinery operation.
- 1–2 years of experience preferred; prior commercial driving experience recommended.
- Experience in distribution and forklift operation is a plus.
- Current DOT medical certificate.
- NCCCO Crane Certification: ABC/ABL required.
- Truck Crane Operation Certification (preferred).
- Telescopic Boom – Fixed Cab Certification (preferred).
- Boom Truck – Fixed Cab Certification (preferred).
- Articulating Boom Crane Certification (preferred).
