The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Compliance Officer provides safe, patient-centered anesthetic care while ensuring compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements. They monitor patients closely during anesthesia, maintain accurate documentation, and uphold high standards of professionalism and ethics. The role involves continuous professional development and working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver optimal anesthesia services.

- The CRNA implements accurate, safe, patient‑centric anesthetic care.
- Understands physiologic implications and anesthetic considerations of surgical procedures, constantly monitors vital signs, capnography, and pulse oximetry during anesthesia according to ASA guidelines.
- Ensures appropriate documentation within hospital and regulatory requirements and protects information of all forms from unauthorized access, modification, destruction, or disclosure.
- Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior, professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient care.
- Continuously engages in projects that maintain and advance professional competency.
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist: completion of a Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
- Preferred clinical working experience as a CRNA within the given specialty/service line.
- APRNs, PAs, CRNAs and CNMs are required to be appointed to the Affiliated Medical Staff of a YNHHS Hospital and credentialed through the Medical Staff process.
- Physical requirements:
able to stand for long periods, wear lead as needed for fluoroscopy/X‑ray cases, lift 25 pounds, reach above and below shoulder height, negotiate patient care environments, and move patients between anesthesia locations.
- AANA Certification
- State of CT RN and APRN license
- ACLS, DEA registration and State of CT Controlled Substance Registration
