Role Description

Petra Star is seeking a part-time Store Associate to join its downtown Mystic, CT jewelry boutique and online store. This role involves engaging with customers, providing expert service and styling, managing follow-ups, and supporting merchandise display. Applicants should have strong sales skills, a basic knowledge of jewelry or luxury goods, and be eager to learn Shopify backend operations and inventory control.

Responsibilities include assisting with sales and appointments, maintaining in-store displays, supporting collaborative events, and performing general admin tasks. Flexibility is required, including one weekend day per week. Pay is hourly, commensurate with experience, plus commission on personal sales.

Qualifications
  • Proven customer service and sales skills, preferably with experience in retail or luxury goods.
  • Basic knowledge of jewelry, with a willingness to learn about vintage and artisan pieces.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail and a client-first approach.
  • Ability to organize displays, assist with merchandising, and maintain store cleanliness.
  • Self-motivated, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a small team.
  • Flexible schedule, with availability for weekend shifts and special in-store events.
  • Comfort engaging with the local community and participating in events or collaborations.
