Position Overview
Full‑time, non‑tenure track faculty in practice (Assistant Professor in Practice, Associate Professor in Practice, or Professor in Practice) in Allied Health Studies, beginning Fall 2026.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications (all ranks)- A terminal degree in physical education or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge in the field of physical education teacher‑education (PETE).
- Experience teaching undergraduate courses in Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE). Courses may include but are not limited to: KINE 4387 – Activities for Special Populations, KINE 4370 – Senior Seminar, KINE 3331 – Concepts of Elementary Physical Education, KINE 3349 – Psychomotor Development Movement Activities, KINE 4362 – Motor Learning.
- Experience incorporating program learning outcomes in courses as part of a PETE program assessment and data collection plan for accreditation purposes.
- Prior certified public school teaching experience at the K‑12 level.
- Participation in scholarly activities and departmental, college, university, and community service activities.
- Potential to coordinate K‑12 teacher certification program in PETE to support and maintain continued national accreditation.
This position may be part‑time or full‑time. Works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the academic unit head.
QualificationsThe Assistant Professor in Practice, Associate Professor in Practice, or Professor in Practice will be a successful and effective professional in the discipline. A terminal or professional degree may be presented, but is not required, to support the requirements for consideration. Education requirements will be relative to position, professional experience and qualifications.
Practical experience sufficient to teach at the university level, through teaching or profession, is required. Experience teaching at the university level is preferred.
