Primary PurposeAct as the facilitator for the ARD Committee. Schedule, prepare, and plan the paperwork for ARDS meetings. Finalize the paperwork. Serve as the neutral person at the ARD meeting to help the parent and the school district write an annual plan for the student. Schedule and complete the ARD process as required to meet student needs and legal guidelines. Facilitate the meeting and maintain confidentiality of all processes and procedures.

Experience: Working with Special Education students and staff
Major Responsibilities and Duties- Consult with school staff regarding implementation of IEP goals, objectives, modifications and accommodations.
- Meet with parents to discuss pertinent student information.
- Consult with teachers and relevant staff concerning the educational needs of students.
- Consult with psychologists, psychiatrists, medical doctors, and community agencies concerning the intellectual, emotional, and behavioral functioning of students.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with students and parents.
- Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required, including case records, test results, statistical data, and test inventories.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy for special education services.
- Comply with all district and local campus routines and regulations.
- Participate in professional development activities to improve skills related to job assignment.
- Coordinate In-Home Training and Parent Training for students with disabilities requiring support with generalizing social, behavioral, and academic skills related to school and community activities.
- Maintain a positive and effective relationship with supervisors.
- Foster an open and solid working relationship with campus leadership.
- Effectively communicate with colleagues, students, and parents.

Working ConditionsMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Regular district wide travel to multiple work locations as assigned; moderate lifting and carrying. May be required to lift and transfer students to and from a wheelchair or assist with positioning students with physical disabilities. May experience exposure to biological hazards, bacteria, and communicable diseases; and may require district wide travel.
