SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION
This is an executive position responsible for assisting the provost/executive vice president for academic affairs in accomplishing the goals of the university’s academic mission by assisting with assigned operations of university academic affairs. Responsible for providing administrative oversight and leadership in academic planning, program implementation, curriculum, compliance, and the application of new technologies to the teaching and learning process. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Reports to the Provost/Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Terminal degree in an academic discipline tenurable within the university is required.
Five years of related experience as a faculty member at a four-year, higher education institution is required. Must have qualifications to warrant a tenured appointment at the rank of associate or full professor in one of the disciplines within the university is required. Documented success in designing and leading new initiatives or programs to advance the mission of an academic department, college, or a campus-wide research center is required.
Experience promoting excellence in comprehensive programs and graduate and/or undergraduate student education is required. Experience supporting curricular, policy, or accreditation report work is required. Experience servicing on committees related to curriculum, policy development, and/or accreditation work is preferred.
