The Children's Choir Director is tasked with leading and developing a choral program for children, focusing on musical growth and fostering a love for singing. This role involves planning and conducting weekly rehearsals, selecting appropriate musical pieces, teaching vocal techniques, and preparing the choir for performances. The director is expected to create a supportive environment that encourages participation and teamwork among choir members.
Candidates should have experience in choral directing or music education, preferably with a background in working with children. A Bachelor's degree in music or music education is required, along with proficiency in an instrument and teaching addition to directing the choir, the role includes teaching private and group lessons to students in the Music Preparatory Division. The director will assess student progress, prepare them for performances, and communicate effectively with students and their families.
Participation in division activities and collaboration with other music teachers for student recruitment are also part of the responsibilities. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to inspire young singers.
