Position: Design Engineer (Powertrain)

About the Role

What you will be doing:

Responsibilities
  • 3D Modeling & Drafting:
    Generate and maintain detailed 3D CAD models and production drawings of powertrain assemblies using Solid Works.
  • Design Optimization:
    Work alongside simulation (CAE/FEA) teams to optimize housings and structural parts for weight, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manufacturing Alignment:
    Ensure designs meet Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) standards.
  • Lifecycle Management:
    Manage subcomponent interfaces, tolerance stack-ups, and Engineering Change Notices (ECN) throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Collaboration:

    Interface with controls, NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness), and testing teams to ensure performance requirements are met.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
Required Skills
  • CAD Proficiency:
    Strong expertise in Solid Works (creating complex parts, assemblies, and detailed technical drawings). Certifications like CSWP or CSWE are highly preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge:
    Solid understanding of automotive engineering, powertrain architecture, and materials science.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and mechanical calculation abilities.
