Work Hours
Monday-Friday - normally between 8:00AM-5:00PM
Primary RolePreparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients, leading a team of pharmacy technicians and managing the overall day-to-day pharmacy responsibilities. The job entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge.
Essential Job Functions- Review and execute provider's prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality
- Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster
- Maintain full control over medication inventory, stocking and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration
- Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice.
- Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient
- Maintain patient profiles and history of all activities regarding medications dispensed
- Keep abreast and stay current with HIPAA and Frauds Waste and Abuse credentialing
- Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures
- Responsible for ensuring that the Pharmacy and its employees are compliant with Federal, State and Local laws regulated
- Ensures that the Pharmacy and its employees are aware and compliant with local facilities policies
- Responsible for directing the daily work of Pharmacy Technicians, this includes providing input into performance evaluations and advising Senior Management of any behavioral and/or performance issues.
- Responsible for managing the Pharmacy Technicians schedules. This includes advising Senior Management of any request for leave of absences or medical accommodations.
- Other duties as necessary
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Current License to practice (PharmD) in Texas
- Excellent oral, written skills
- Previous leadership role helpful
- Must be able to utilize Patient Management System in the Pharmacy
- Min 3-5 years retail pharmacy manager experience
- Standing for prolong periods of time
- Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Fine Motor Skills
- Great leadership, communication and management skills
- Min 3-5 years retail pharmacy management experience
