Position: Coordinator - Promotions and Sponsor ships (Campus Recreation)
SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a professional position responsible for administering a comprehensive promotions and sponsor ships programming function within the Campus Recreation Department. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Director of Campus Recreation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
One year of related experience is required. Experience in marketing, advertising, and layout design is required. Experience in production of printed materials and management of web services is preferred. Experience working with students in a higher education environment is preferred. Supervisory experience is preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates graduate and undergraduate student employees.Coordinates comprehensive campus recreation promotions and sponsor ships programming function, to include producing departmental publications and marketing content; coordinating temporary signage/bulletin boards; approving signage, photography and video filming in recreational facilities; and managing departmental website and social media in collaboration with University Marketing Communications.Generates revenue for the department through sponsorship sales, gift-in-kind donations, and facilities advertisements.Plans, develops, implements, promotes, and monitors effectiveness of promotions and sponsor ships initiatives including various marketing and promotional efforts to campus and local community.Administers promotions and sponsor ships program budget and payroll function.Maintains in-house electronic messaging system.Ensures photos and videos needed for promotional purposes are taken for all program areas and edited for use.Researches and applies new knowledge and techniques to current policies, procedures, and operations.Serves as liaison to faculty and staff, student organizations, external vendors, and the community.NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
