Position Summary
Provides direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patients, and addresses the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient conditions. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory. Participates in performance improvement activities. Assesses operating room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met.
Monitors, positions, and assists patient during procedure.
Patient care employees must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients of all age groups - must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development through the life span, possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient s status, and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient s needs in relation to age and to provide the care needed as described in the department s policies and procedures.

Minimum Education: Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum Experience: Graduate of nursing program and eligible for board exam
Required Certification: ACLS, BLS
Required Licensure: Registered Nurse
