• 1+ year recent experience as a Telemetry RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• BLS Certification (AHA/ARC) current
• ACLS Certification current

• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification
• NIHSS certification
• Other certifications and licenses as required

The Telemetry Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care in a telemetry unit, focusing on continuous cardiac monitoring and assessment. The role requires strong clinical skills in telemetry nursing, critical thinking, excellent communication, and commitment to patient safety and professional ethics.

• Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, focusing on cardiac care
• Prepares equipment and assists physicians during cardiac-related procedures and examinations
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients
• Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, notifying supervisor or physician of patient cardiac status and response to interventions
• Responds to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols for cardiac emergencies
• Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients
• Initiates patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Maintains confidentiality of patients and client
• Performs other duties as assigned within scope of practice
• Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
• Physical abilities: remain stationary, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, bend
• Interpersonal skills: work effectively with personnel, maintain positive attitude and professionalism
• Technical/motor skills: fine manipulation, assist procedures, use equipment
• Mental requirements: cope with frequent public contact, manage deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision occasionally, handle irregular activity schedules, maintain concentration to detail
