Position: Personal Banker I

About The Role

Mountain West Bank is seeking a Personal Banker for our Nampa 12th Street branch in Nampa, Idaho.

As a Personal Banker, you will support Mountain West Bank's mission to deliver exceptional customer experiences. This position is responsible for the professional selling of multiple services and accounts to each customer and prospective customer, is familiar with and promotes the use of all bank accounts and services, and may act as a teller as determined by branch needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for knowing the features and benefits of all retail banking products and services.
  • May require travel.
  • Responsible for opening new accounts and complying with MWB and GBCI policies and procedures when doing so.
  • Proficient with the bank's High-Performance Growth (HPG) program and actively participates in all aspects of the program including, but not limited to:
    Tell‑A‑Friend, Big Days, HPG displays, 2‑2‑2 follow‑up, cross‑serve panel.
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges and account histories while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations, and consumer privacy policies.
  • Follows up with temporary signature cards within the appropriate time frames and complies with all procedures.
  • Accurately closes accounts only after trying to retain the customer.
  • Cross‑sells bank products and services.
  • Refers customers to the proper department for issues that cannot be resolved and refers customers to other departments for other products and services.
  • Perform teller duties as needed.
  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Position Requirements and

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient keyboarding skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Prior sales experience.
  • Prior banking experience.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of Jack Henry platform.
  • Previous experience as a teller.
  • Previous knowledge and use of MWB products and services.

Personal Bankers must be client/customer focused, hold information in the strictest confidence, have a technical capacity to navigate our systems smoothly, be thorough, and communicate proficiently.

Work Environment

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in a climate‑controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.

Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Must be capable of climbing/descent stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include:
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
