Career & Technical Education (CTE) Classroom Aide

A Career & Technical Education (CTE) Classroom Aide supports instructors and students in career-focused courses. The aide assists with classroom management, preparation of materials, supervision of students, and ensuring a safe learning environment while helping students develop practical job skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the CTE instructor with daily classroom activities and instructional support.
• Prepare and organize tools, equipment, supplies, and instructional materials for lessons.
• Provide individual or small-group support to students during classroom or hands-on learning activities.
• Monitor students to ensure safe use of tools, machines, and equipment.
• Help maintain an organized, clean, and safe classroom or lab environment.
• Supervise students during projects and work-based learning activities.
• Assist with grading, record keeping, and attendance when requested by the instructor.
• Support students with varying learning needs under teacher guidance.
• Help enforce classroom rules and school policies.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of lab activities, demonstrations, and projects.
• Report safety concerns, equipment issues, or student needs to the instructor.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work effectively with students and teachers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain a safe classroom environment.
• Willingness to learn technical tools or equipment used in the program.
• Recent first aid and CPR certifications.
• Experience working in education or with youth.
• Background in a career or technical field (construction, automotive, welding, healthcare, etc.).
• Knowledge of classroom safety procedures and equipment use.
