The Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Program is looking for a passionate and motivated Certified Athletic Trainer to work at our clinic near the Nampa Medical Center!
Position DetailsThis position will work with a Sports Medicine physician. As the Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), your function in the clinic is an extremely important role in patient care. Duties will include clerical and surgery scheduling, rooming patients, obtaining information regarding presentation/injury, assisting in the application of splints/braces/casts, and counseling patients on injury prevention/treatment. The ATC will work with other team members including Medical Assistants, Nurses, NPs, PAs, and Physicians.
The Sports Medicine program at Saint Alphonsus also supports various community activities like area High Schools athletic programs, the Far West Regional soccer tournament, Optimist Football, various races, and other events, which this position will help support as well!
Work ScheduleThis position will typically work Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm with rotating weekend shifts facilitating community outreach events. This position may occasionally support the Ortho Urgent Care clinic, which may require some evening hours.
Work LocationsThis position will primarily work at our Nampa Orthopedics & Sports Medicine clinic (near the Nampa Medical Center campus), but may occasionally support the Boise clinic as needed. The Boise clinic is located on Emerald Street, near the Boise Regional Medical Center.

License/Certification Requirements- Bachelor's Degree required
- Certified as an Athletic Trainer
- Licensed as an Athletic Trainer in the state they work (Idaho or Oregon)
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups.
- Demonstrates a basic working knowledge of intervention techniques for use with injured athletes.
- Appropriately applies braces, splints, and casting material.
- Demonstrates working clinical knowledge of varied athletic injuries and diagnoses.
- Demonstrates ability to educate, instruct, apply and monitor the facts and circumstances required to protect the athlete from injury.
- Demonstrates ability to identify, through physical exam or screening processes, conditions that may pose a risk of injury, illness or disease to an athlete.
- Demonstrates ability to recognize/triage, evaluate and care for injuries and illness occurring during athletic events or in the practice for athletic events.
