Job Description

A Probe Process Technician at onsemi in Nampa plays a key role in supporting the manufacturing and electrical testing of Image Sensor products. The primary responsibility of this role is to help sustain probe test processes, resolve equipment and process issues, and ensure manufacturing lots are tested efficiently with minimal downtime. Probe Process Technicians provide real‑time support to shift technicians, assist with troubleshooting events, and contribute to maintaining reliable test operations including the management of flags, pause bins, and other test‑control systems.

Long term, the Probe Process Technician helps maintain a stable, well‑understood process that allows the probe team to monitor test performance, identify issues, and make improvements. The technician will also participate in scheduled meetings and communicate progress, issues, and project updates to co‑workers and supervisors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support shift Probe Technicians with issues affecting test operations, including troubleshooting and reducing equipment downtime.
  • Learn and apply working knowledge of probe‑test equipment such as IP750 testers, Accretech probers, ESI lasers, and Screen scrubbers.
  • Build an understanding of probe test workflows and test development fundamentals.
  • Use basic statistical process control (SPC) and data‑analysis tools to monitor processes, identify out‑of‑control or out‑of‑spec conditions, and support corrective actions.
  • Assist in evaluating probe results, identifying trends or issues, and supporting improvement activities.
  • Work with engineering and cross‑functional teams to resolve probe or test‑related issues.
  • Prepare accurate written and verbal shift pass‑downs, documenting equipment status, process events, and project updates.
  • Create or update Work Instructions, Best Known Methods (BKMs), and training materials.
  • Keep the lead engineer and production supervisor informed of any area concerns, progress updates, or ongoing activities.
Qualifications
  • Must currently be a Technician in CFA or Probe at the Nampa location.
  • Basic understanding of statistical process control (SPC) concepts.
  • Strong analytical and data‑review skills.
  • Solid troubleshooting approach and ability to solve problems independently.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational abilities.
  • Self‑motivated, innovative, and able to work well both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment.
  • Willingness to work any shift, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
