Job Summary

We are seeking a full‑time Production Lead. The Production Lead is responsible for supervising and training production personnel during their shift in a manner consistent with overall company policies and procedures, while ensuring the final product is manufactured safely, meets high quality standards, and is delivered on time to the customer.

Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise personnel, production workflow, safety, and quality
  • Operate all stations of the work center for employee training and troubleshooting
  • Confirm employees have been instructed on proper safety procedures
  • Assist Production Manager in handling personnel and production workflow
  • Train new hires and/or transfers into the department
  • Conduct beginning‑of‑shift and end‑of‑shift meetings with prior/next shift to receive and pass on critical production, quality, or machine information
  • Hold beginning‑of‑shift huddles to review safety information, announcements, and tasks for shift personnel
  • Ensure all personnel are wearing correct safety equipment and maintain safety awareness throughout the shift
  • Ensure individuals apply proper techniques that comply with quality control procedures
  • Report safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the maintenance and safety coordinator
  • Ensure work effort applies effectively and that company quality standards and production capacities for the shift are met
  • Provide feedback to the Production Manager regarding performance of department employees
  • Maintain regular attendance, safely perform tasks, and adhere to all safety policies and procedures (essential functions)
  • Assist the Production Manager with performance evaluations of shift personnel
  • Deliver verbal and written disciplinary warnings or counseling per company policy
  • Complete production reports at the end of the shift, including work performed, back orders, and hot items
  • Assist the Safety Coordinator in completing monthly safety trainings for shift personnel
  • Consistently and effectively communicate with shift counterparts, production manager, plant manager, technicians, HR, customer service, and maintenance
  • Enforce safety rules and maintain clean, orderly work areas
  • Direct production activities for products in line with effective operations
  • Allocate shift personnel to various areas to accomplish scheduled jobs and maintain production efficiencies
  • Encourage and lead maximum shift production flow while ensuring safety and quality
Job Requirements
  • At least 3 years of lead/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to operate under pressure, meet strict deadlines, effectively prioritize workload, and multitask
  • Ability to lead by example and build effective teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time‑management skills
  • Ability to work in a factory environment and perform manual labor
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Ability to read and perform mathematical calculations and measurements with numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Physical ability to bend, twist, reach, and lift/move up to 40 lbs. frequently
  • Ability to work under varied temperatures, humidity, and noise levels typical of a manufacturing environment
  • Standing for long periods and working under tight time constraints
