Inventory & Parts Specialist

Job Summary: The Inventory & Parts Specialist supports trailer manufacturing operations by ensuring the accurate management, movement, and availability of parts and materials needed for production. This role is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counts and audits, coordinating inbound and outbound parts logistics, investigating inventory discrepancies, and supporting inter-brand transfers. Working closely with production, purchasing, and operations teams, the Inventory & Parts Specialist helps ensure materials are available when needed to minimize downtime, maintain efficient workflow, and support the delivery of high-quality trailers while upholding safety and organization standards.

Essential Functions
  • Perform cycle counts, spot audits, and inventory reconciliations in accordance with established inventory control procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory receipts, shipments, transfers, and transactions.
  • Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, and Operations teams to ensure materials and parts are available to meet manufacturing schedules.
  • Respond promptly to inventory and parts inquiries from internal customers.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies; prepare inventory adjustment and bin location reports as needed.
  • Assist in identifying root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy.
  • Inspect incoming and stored inventory to verify quality standards; identify and disposition nonconforming materials as directed.
  • Coordinate inter-business and inter-brand transfers, including freight approvals, logistics, and documentation.
  • Schedule ordered parts with existing trailer loads to maximize transportation efficiency.
  • Process small parcel and freight shipments, including UPS and USPS carrier orders.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and accessible parts inventory and storage locations.
  • Participate in weekly production meetings to communicate inventory status, support production priorities, and address material needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and operational objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in inventory control, parts management, warehousing, or a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and experience using computerized inventory or ERP systems required.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations with accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and work effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts) or obtain certification, if required.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with frequent exposure to moving mechanical equipment, airborne particles, dust, fumes, and vibration.
  • Noise levels are frequently high; hearing protection is required in designated areas.
  • Regularly required to communicate effectively in a busy industrial environment.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, climb, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds independently and up to 80 pounds with team assistance or appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Must possess visual abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus to inspect parts and materials accurately.
