As a welder, you are responsible for cutting and joining mild or stainless steel and other materials, and for operating equipment to assemble structures.
Essential Functions- Participate in all safe start meetings.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Follow 5S standards to maintain the work area.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on specifications.
- Set up and align components for welding according to specifications.
- Weld components using manual or semi‑automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).
- Operate angle grinders and other tools necessary to prepare the surface to be welded.
- Complete pre‑operation equipment inspections and report any issues identified.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Related degree from a technical college, a plus.
- 1 year of proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing environment, or internship while attending technical college.
- Steady hands and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Basic welding and metal terminology.
- Endurance and dexterity.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment safely and efficiently.
- Ability to exert up to 80 pounds of force occasionally, up to 40 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
