Your day to day as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)

As a new Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) at Sunny Ridge, you will engage in a variety of essential tasks each day, ensuring patients receive quality care and support. Your daily responsibilities will include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating, as well as monitoring vital signs and reporting any changes to the nursing staff. You can expect to foster strong relationships with patients, helping to create a positive and comforting environment.

Your schedule will typically be Sunday through Thursday
, allowing for consistent care and communication with colleagues. In this role, you will also contribute to maintaining a clean and safe environment by following safety protocols and assisting with the organization of supplies and equipment. Requirements

  • Current CNA certification
  • Effective communication with coworkers and residents
  • Willingness to learn local, state, and federal laws/regulations in regards to long-term care

Job Duties

  • Answer residents' call lights to determine needs
  • Turn and reposition residents while they are in bed
  • Provide physical support to assist residents in performing daily living activities such as getting in/out of bed, bathing, eating, dressing, using the bathroom, standing, walking, or exercising
  • Review dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences to ensure residents receive appropriate diet
  • Record food and liquid intake and output as necessary
  • Reporting changes in resident condition to nursing staff and develop relationships with residents to ensure their stay is comfortable

Must be able to pass a background check.
