American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Telemetry travel contract working night shifts at an acute care hospital in Nampa, , with floating requirements and a 50-mile radius rule.
Requirements- Active license or compact RN license (must be active, pending licenses not accepted)
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience
- Driver's license required
- 2 professional references required for consideration: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- CANDIDATES must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible - permanent address will be verified
- Acute care hospital telemetry unit (Floor
1) with 24 beds - Patient population includes heart failure, COPD, sepsis, A-fib, pneumonia, stroke, detox, and suicidal holds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, supported by CNAs at a 1:8 ratio
- Telemetry monitoring via Space Labs; RNs are required to sign off on their own strips
- Respiratory therapy equipment in use includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
- Set-rate drips administered on the unit include Diltiazem, Heparin, Amiodarone, and Lidocaine - drip titration is not required
- EMR:
Epic - 12-hour night shifts, 7p-7a
- Weekends required on a rotation basis, with travelers expected to help fill scheduling gaps as needed
- Holiday coverage required on an as-needed basis
- No on-call or standby requirements
- Floating is required to Med Surg within the same facility, and may also include float to Telemetry units in Meridian or Boise
- 13-week contract
- Unit operates on a team nursing model; when fully staffed, 2 of 7 floor RNs serve as leads with a reduced patient load of 1-2 patients to assist colleagues with med passes and patient care - experienced travelers are eligible to work as leads
- A dedicated charge nurse is present on each shift and does not take a patient assignment; an administrative supervisor is on-site 24/7
- Unit-specific orientation is 1-2 days
- No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accommodated
- Former permanent employees of the facility must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Any color scrubs are acceptable as long as they are clean and professional
