Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages. The role involves monitoring fetal and maternal well-being, administering medications, and assisting with delivery procedures to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery.
- Administer prescribed medications and analgesics as needed.
- Assist physicians or midwives during delivery procedures.
- Educate patients and families on postpartum care and newborn management.
- Document patient care and concern in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license in good standing.
- Valid BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in labor and delivery nursing.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
