Shift: 1st Shift (Mon-Fri, 8h 6:00 AM–2:00 PM).
Purpose:
Receive inspection of incoming and outgoing materials to ensure compliance with quality standards and prevent defective products from proceeding.
- Perform routine inspections, visual checks, and functional tests on inbound material using sampling procedures and tools such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, and jigs.
- Collaborate with Supplier Quality Technicians and Engineers to ensure inspections meet part specifications and critical characteristics.
- Identify and segregate non‑conforming or discrepant material; support purges and internal screening.
- Communicate quality issues to Buyers and Supplier Engineers and alert supervisors, escalating when necessary.
- Maintain current certifications and training required for the role.
- High School diploma required.
- Less than 1 year of related experience required; 1+ years preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Flexible to work overtime, nights, various shifts, and weekends.
- Familiarity with material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, barcode scanners, PCs).
- Ability to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Capability to lift, reach, push, pull up to 45 lb.
- Willingness to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Experience with height gauges, calipers, miscellaneous gauges, micrometers, and other measurement tools.
- Demonstrated ability to stay current on processes, procedures, and training.
- Work in an electro‑mechanical manufacturing environment with required PPE.
- Stand and sit for extended periods; lift and move material; use precision measurement tools.
- Perform repetitive computer tasks in various software to create, edit, and save quality records.
- Visual inspection may require near vision and use of magnifiers or cameras.
- Less than 40% of the time.
Salary Range: $37,000.00 – $55,400.00.
